Sysadmin tools gaps analysis
From Genunix
Please describe areas where administrative tools are missing or incomplete.
(Cases where there are tools but that are too hard to use should go into the That's hard page.)
ZFS policy assistant. Something like metassist (doesn't veritas have something similar?) where you just tell it what your performance objectives and safety requirements are and it creates pools given the available devices.
Zone creation assistant. In many cases you shouldn't have to supply anything more than a name/address to get a functioning zone. (Which means reasonable defaults, and automated sysidcfg construction.)
One-stop sys-unconfig. Maybe sys-reconfig - asks you all the questions, changes all the values, and activates the whole lot in a single reboot. It has to be easier to change the hostname and IP address!
