There is a discussion going on in the OpenSolaris discussion forum about the process for publishing articles. This page is an attempt to see how a wiki could be used to achieve the stated objectives: having an initial draft which could be reviewed by the community which after a certain period of time, gets published.
Creating an initial draft
Anybody can put up an initial draft of an article. A page is marked as an article by adding it the Articles category. Add the following line to the bottom of the page to mark it as an article.
[[Category:Articles]]
The article is posted for review by putting in the {{draft}} tag at the top of the page. This lists the page in Category:Drafts.
Publishing the final article
After a certain amount of time has passed from the time the article is posted, for review (say a week), the author can publish the final draft by just removing the {{draft}} tag. If necessary, the article can be protected from further edits. (Not very sure if this is a good idea, though.)
