- Find an educational sponsorship, Linda Kateley will try and get us some contacts.

- Linda Kateley presented on xVM.
Discussions
- Ancient computers were discussed.
- Running xVM was discussed.
  - Jeff stole the show by having VMWare Parallels on his Apple Notebook with a dom0 xVM running inside of it.
  - Linda pointed out that xVM will become the name of virtualization for Sun whether its under Xen or the LDOM's.
  - Solaris as a nice guest in Solaris 10 u5, Solaris xVM server as a seperate supported product.
- Raised the question of is there a gap in OpenSolaris for running Highly Parallelized Processes since that's the trend in the chip technologies from Sun. My original attempt was to extend SMF instances out to handle this functionality via Instances
  - GRID/HPC computing was suggested as an alternative (http://www.sun.com/servers/hpc/index.jsp).
  - Looking to have presentations on this for the February meeting.
- Another Sun employee (Chicago based, I need the name, sorry.) Was present and gave some hints of Active Directory integration work with Solaris, perhaps we can get more for next meeting.
